What has sparks your inspiration?
Hi, my name is Montana Scully and I currently attend Glenbrook South Highschool as a freshman. This year I chose to take fashion as an elective to have this lead to further interests and possibly even a career! Ever since I was a child, I have been intrigued by the idea 'fashion'. I was always curious as to why people wore different types of clothes and how to express myself through what I wear. My grandma, being a model and an intense sower, has helped spark my interest. She is always one to have the best "in-style" do's and dont's.
I recall sitting in my closet at about 5 years old and just staring at my clothes in awe, wondering how to match things together as well as corresponding with my American Girl Doll's outfits. A couple years later, I started to use technology to express my ideas of fashion and purchased Nintendo Ds game, 'Imagine Fashion Designer'. The instruction was to complete tasks and make outfits/designs for the upcoming runway show, which was always fun and challenging for an 8 year old. Later on, I started to sketch out my ideas. I was not blessed with the ability to draw, but I didn't let that stifle my ideas and creativity. Along with the sketchbook was a sheet that had garment shaped stencils. As I have gotten older, the idea of shopping for clothes that I like has never left my side. I also use pinterest to organize my ideas and views of fashion and the current seasonal style. I am constantly looking for the best ways and inspiration when creating my own clothes and accessories. I look forward to posting to my workbook and collection of clothing. Until then, may you always look fabulous and inspire others through your fashions. :)
